ZTPipe Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These Terms set out the conditions on which Packet Pilot LLC (“we”) provides ZTPipe and its related services (the customer portal, the license service, the network check service and Proof; together, the “Service”). Please use the Service only if you agree to these Terms.
Article 1 (Scope)
These Terms apply to every aspect of the relationship between us and you concerning the Service. Rules and notices we publish in the app or the portal form part of these Terms.
Article 2 (Accounts)
- Your administrator creates a portal account with an email address, a password and two-factor authentication. You must keep your information accurate.
- You are responsible for your account, password, two-factor device, contract ID and serial numbers. You must not let a third party use them.
- Any operation carried out through an account is treated as an operation by that account.
Article 3 (Licenses)
- A license is a right to use the ZTPipe app. One license is for one person (one email address); that person may use the app on up to two devices.
- You activate the app with the contract ID and a serial number. The app holds a signed license certificate tied to the paid period, and refreshes it with our license service.
- If there is no valid license — because it has expired, payment has failed, or the app cannot reach our license service after the license certificate has expired — the app is locked: only license entry and renewal are available, and messages cannot be read, sent or received until the license is valid again. The data and keys on your devices are kept, and become available again when a valid license is entered.
Article 4 (Customers, prices and payment)
- The price is 800 yen per license per 30 days, excluding tax.
- The optional Proof license costs 8,000 yen per month per contract ID, excluding tax. It lets every license under that contract ID add a Proof (PP-TSA) to messages. It renews automatically each month and can be cancelled in the portal. All other ZTPipe features work without a Proof license.
- We currently sell only to corporations established in Japan, which must register their Japanese Corporate Number (法人番号). We do not sell to individuals or sole proprietors, or to customers in other countries.
- Payment is by credit card through Stripe. Licenses added during a period are charged pro rata; removed licenses stop from the next renewal.
- If a renewal charge fails, you may use the Service until the end of the paid period.
Article 5 (Cancellation)
If you cancel, the contract ends at the end of the period already paid for. No refund is given for that period. The same applies if you cancel only the Proof license.
Article 6 (What ZTPipe does and does not guarantee)
ZTPipe signs, encrypts and verifies messages between ZTPipe users. You use it on the following understanding:
- A verified signature shows who signed a message and that it was not altered. It does not show that the content is true or that an attachment is free of malware. Malware checks report pass, fail or not checked separately.
- ZTPipe shows a message as Trusted only when its checks pass. Pending and failed messages are never shown as Trusted.
- A Proof (PP-TSA) shows that the data existed at that time and has not changed since. It does not show who created it or whether it is correct.
- An expiring message is deleted from the ZTPipe apps of the sender and recipients when it expires. It cannot recall copies, screenshots or text that a person has already taken out of the app.
- Your keys exist only on your devices. If you lose all your devices, your past messages can no longer be read. This version of ZTPipe has no recovery key. We recommend using a second device.
- You should confirm your contacts’ identity with the safety number shown in the app. Messages from contacts you have not verified are not placed in the Trusted Inbox.
Article 7 (Mail providers)
ZTPipe connects to your mail provider (Google, Microsoft or another provider) with your permission. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for the availability of those services.
Article 8 (Prohibited conduct)
You must not: break the law; send unlawful content; attempt to access accounts or systems you are not authorised to access; interfere with the Service; reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law; or resell the Service without our written consent.
Article 9 (Suspension and changes)
We may suspend the Service for maintenance or faults, with advance notice where possible. We may change or end the Service with reasonable advance notice; the data on your devices remains yours.
Article 10 (Limitation of liability)
We give no warranty that the Service is free from defects. Except for intent or gross negligence, our liability is limited to the fees you paid for the month in which the loss arose, and we are not liable for indirect loss or lost profits.
Article 11 (Confidentiality)
Neither party may disclose confidential information received from the other in connection with the Service without consent, or use it for any other purpose.
Article 12 (Changes to these Terms)
We may amend these Terms by publishing them on this page. For material changes we give reasonable advance notice.
Article 13 (Governing law and jurisdiction)
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction at first instance.
Article 14 (Language)
These Terms are published in Japanese, English, French, German and Spanish. The Japanese and English versions are authoritative; the other versions are translations for convenience. If the Japanese and English versions differ, the Japanese version prevails.
